Literature Text
Nowdays, all we see is these kids using chatspeak constantly and becoming so lazy that
they won't even spell out words. I mean, the words chatspeak and text talk are already
in the dictionary, does that mean l33t is next? The next thing you know, all our words will
have a "shortened" spelling. I don't know about you, but this is not what I want to read
in the dictionary-
"You (u)- noun- Referring to a person one is talking to; second person. Note: U is the cool
people's way to spell it."
I'd much rather see this in the dictionary-
"TTYL- phrase- A shortened way of telling someone you'll talk to them later, but probably
won't because they aren't worth the ten seconds of your life to type fourteen stinkin' letters."
That makes me think... hmm... maybe I should write my own dictionary: the cool, hip, modern
dictionary. Maybe I'll call it "The In Your Face Dictionary For The Rest Of Us." Yea that's a
great money making ploy....
Well, enough of my schemes and back onto my chatspeak rant. People argue that chatspeak
is making our children lazy and putting a rise in illiteracy because our children can't spell
anymore. Why blame the text talk when it's obviously your fault? You're the ones who let
your kids stare at two glowing boxes all day ((computer and television)) that show them
obesity and laziness is okay. They also show your kids that you can hit someone with a
huge mallet and their eyes pop out as well as that common physics don't exist, but that's
another argument entirely. Maybe they'd be less lazy if they got out of the house once in
a while.
Or maybe we just need some new stupid ploy to get kids busy doing something
else. Next time your kid is running up the texting bills, send them outside with their friends
and tell them to send messages to each other using sticks, rocks and dirt. That way, they're
getting fresh air, aren't running up the bill, and are out of your hair! Let's ignore that they'll
have to bathe more often, but that's probably a plus too.
Oh well, guess we're stuck in a haze of more constantly stupidity in this world.

Friends
What can happen everyday
Can change your life
And change your way
The help that you might find inside
Will only help you
In certain time
Because, you see, it won't compare
To friends that help you
When you despair
They help you see the bluer skies
When all you hear
Are blacker lies
They help you laugh when you want to cry
They make you see light
When you want to die
They drag you out, when you stay in
You think you'll lose,
They make you win
So take your friends, make sure they know
That they're the ones
That make you glow.

Best Friends Forever
As the years pass,
and we grow apart,
I want you to know,
that you're in my heart.
You helped me through problems,
through things good and bad.
You helped me keep smiling,
Even when I was sad.
You helped me with guys.
You made me stay strong.
How will I live,
when you are gone?
And where the years take us,
No place is too far,
we will think of each other,
wherever we are.
You're a wonderful person,
with a good heart to lend,
and I want you to know,
youre an amazing friend.

Friends
Your friends are your friends.
Period.
No matter what you go through,
no matter how many "I hate you"s are thrown around,
there will always be that bond.
You go through thick and through thin,
and even though you wish you hadn't met 80% of the time,
you're stuck together like glue.
All of those bad times will soon be overshadowed by the good.
And all the good times will stay with you

It doesn't matter if you've know them for nine years,
or five months,
there will always be a place in your heart for them.
Your friends are crazy.
Yes.
I know.
VERY crazy.
But the love you share is all that matters.

This was probably one of my better ATN, this time about the effect of chatspeak on our youth. Chatspeak is an internet lingo, with shortened words and phrases. And the dictionary definitions are my own.
ATN (c) - Me. Steal him and there will be consquences. He's the only good thing I've got.
